VerkehrBBH provides expert advice to all types of undertakings in the transport sector. This includes public road and rail transport as well as local infrastructure such as multi-storey car parks, swimming pools, river ports and airports.

In view of the often unsatisfactory profit situation of local public transport companies, there is a growing need to restructure transport companies and/or integrate strategic partners (keyword: PPP models). We provide advice in relation to such projects concerning all legal and taxation issues, particularly with the aim of optimising the situation with respect to company and passenger transport laws. Further core areas of practice include labour law for transportation companies (drivers’ rights, driving time and rest periods, collective labour agreements etc.) and railway law (access to the railway infrastructure, stations and track access charges etc.).

In the area of public transport, we also provide expert advice on issues of subsidy and concession rights and the Passenger Transportation Act (PBefG). With regards to public procurement law, we support our clients in the contracting of transportation services as well as on tax law concerning the securing of tax unity across entities (Querverbund).

Our service offering in the traditional public passenger transport sector is complemented by advice on the highly topical area of e-mobility. This does not only include the development of the necessary energy infrastructure, such as network connections and charging stations for example, but also extends to the planning and implementation of an integrated urban traffic concept, intelligently combining traditional public passenger transport with individual means of transport.

Our clients in this area include local transport companies as well as municipalities who operate their own public transport schemes.
