On 11/09/2019 the law firm Becker Büttner Held (BBH) will host the 28th edition of its traditional annual conference in Berlin. This year, BBH will focus equally on energy and further relevant infrastructure sectors. The conference covers not only a wide range of topics but also features an impressive line-up of high-profile speakers, making it an exceptional event in the political landscape of Berlin.
The programmatic term “energy transition” has been familiar to policymakers for several decades; “transport transition” has not been around that long and the term “mobility transition” – the scope of which is wider – has only recently been coined. The term “infrastructure transition” has hardly come into use yet – although a holistic view of the different sectors is precisely what is lacking right now. However, first approaches in this respect are emerging in the framework of sector coupling, even though these are rather focusing on individual applications.
Under the motto “Thinking in infrastructures”, BBH and the conference participants will discuss ways of shaping the infrastructure of tomorrow. The discussion will be moderated by BBH partners Prof. Dr. Ines Zenke and Prof. Christian Held. Among the high-profile speakers will be Svenja Schulze, Federal Environment Minister, Annalena Baerbock, Federal Chairwoman of Bündnis 90/DIE GRÜNEN, and Jochen Homann, President of the Federal Network Agency (Bundesnetzagentur – BNetzA), as well as numerous other experts from the world of politics, business and science.
Becker Büttner Held is a leading provider of advisory services for energy and infrastructure companies and their customers. Energy and supply companies, particularly public utilities, municipalities and local authorities, industrial companies and international groups are among its core clients. BBH advises these and many other companies and organisations in all legal matters and also assists them with business and strategic advice.
