To eliminate the existing slowdown in investment and to meet future investment needs, the public authorities depend on private equity investment for the provision of public services. Therefore, Becker Büttner Held is committed to raising the awareness of the public and the private sectors that a participation of private partners within the framework of Public Private Partnerships as a life cycle model is generally a sensible acquisition alternative. In this respect, strategic investment decisions must not be limited to promoting and funding infrastructures such as for utility and disposal services closely related to economic interests in the form of institutional PPPs, but must finally include any kind of cooperation between public and private legal entities for the provision of public services on a contractual basis. We support Partnerschaften Deutschland and welcome particularly their initiative to reduce transaction costs by introducing standardised procedures. Only thus can this regularly interesting acquisition alternative obtain the recognition that it deserves and be implemented successfully on local level.
