BBH Partner of Counsel Jörg Kuhbier receives the German Renewables Award for his lifetime achievements

Yesterday, BBH Partner of Counsel and former senator for environmental affairs Jörg Kuhbier received the German Renewables Award in the category “lifetime achievements”. The awards committee praised Jörg Kuhbier’s decades of commitment to renewable energy and offshore wind power.

Lawyer Jörg Kuhbier has been Partner of Counsel at BBH Hamburg since 2013, when his law firm Kuhbier Rechtsanwälte merged with BBH. His commitment to renewable energy is far from limited to his practice as a lawyer. For twelve years, Jörg Kuhbier was Chairman of the Executive Board of the German Offshore Wind Energy Foundation and has been Honorary Chairman of the foundation since 2017. From 1983 to 1991, he served as senator in Hamburg in charge of environmental affairs, energy supply and waste management policy. Furthermore, he holds many other honorary and public positions in the area of energy and the environment.

He was now honoured for his diverse commitment to renewable energy at the German Renewables Award ceremony. This year the prize in the category “lifetime achievements” went to Jörg Kuhbier. It is the sixth time that the Renewable Energy Hamburg Cluster (EEHH) awarded this prize. BBH partner Dr. Ursula Prall, who has been working with Jörg Kuhbier for many years, delivered the laudation.
