BBH publishes its 100th book

"Gesetzessammlung Energierecht" (collection of energy legislation), published by dtv (a division of publishers C.H. Beck), is the title of the 100th specialist book by law firm Becker Büttner Held (BBH), which boasts a prolific literary output. Now in its 14th edition, the volume covers the energy legislation currently applicable in Germany, including the most important statutes, ordinances and guidelines in this area. Prof. Dr Christian Theobald, long-time partner at BBH, is one of the editors.

"Authoring and editing specialist books, publication series and journals is a long-established tradition at BBH", says Dr Ines Zenke, BBH partner, who has edited various books herself. "Our aim is to make accessible to a broad readership the experiences we make in our day-to-day advisory practice". This is also the objective of the recent publication by Prof. Dr Theobald and co-editor Dr Nill-Theobald: Few other legal areas have seen the number of regulations soar like energy law has in recent years. "Covering the current energy legislation in a single volume is a challenge which gets more difficult every year", says Prof. Dr Christian Theobald. "But that is exactly why we need such a publication".

The updated volume does not only encompass the revisions of the "classic" laws such as the Energy Industry Act (Energiewirtschaftsgesetz), the Renewable Energy Sources Act (Erneuerbare-Energien-Gesetz) and the Combined Heat and Power Act (Kraft-Wärme-Kopplungsgesetz, but also the Metering Point Operation Act (Messstellenbetriebsgesetz), the Act on Metering and Calibration (Mess- und Eichgesetz), the Act on the Development and Promotion of Offshore Wind Energy (Windenergie-auf-See-Gesetz) and many more. The book features a detailed introduction explaining the legislative context of the regulations.
